In 2024, I decided to use Plex’s watch list and watch history as a measure of TV watched. I use Plex for my personal media, so it made some sense to keep it in place. Unfortunately, Plex’s watch list features are meagre, and especially frustrating when trying to put together an end of year list (or any sort of quick recommendation, really). I also found it forgot shows I was watching, and didn’t let me know when there were new seasons of shows on the watchlist. Lastly, I hated that marking a show as complete removes the show from the watchlist. So, so much for that experiment. I’ll be going back to TV Trakt, which kept a nice library of my shows until 2022 (when I started to try out other apps).
So back on TV Trakt, you can see my Favourites, Anime Recommendations, and Best of 2024. I just received the “wrapped” email from them, where they told me I’d watched 358 hours of TV this year. That’s just under an hour a day! Not bad, really.
