Popeye March 2026 is full of cool layouts, colour choices, and handdrawn sketches.
The pink highlight around the headers here are really cute. It draws the eye well. I also love how grounded the photos are in relation to the clothes advertised.
In this article for Japanese designers, they use a mix of purple and blue against a light grey. It’s like nothing else in the issue. Magazines don’t use enough purple.
At first, I was confused about what “20404” meant because it’s replicated on every page of this feature. But Twenty for April is pretty clever, and they picked a great font for it.
Finally, I want to highlight two layouts with hand-drawn elements. I’m sure this is terribly cost-ineffective, but I always appreciate seeing the humanity on display. High-end glossy magazines can still keep some of that indie zine aesthetic.
