Reasons by Tayisiya is a firecracker visual zine, put together with glue and scissors and love; the way it oughta be. I love the tension between industrial and soft; grey and pink. That sawtooth edge is actually soft to the touch.
Minimalism meets ransom-note chic. By splitting the magnifying glass across the fold, the layout forces the eye to literally “zoom out” to see the full object. It’s a great example of using scale.
This spread plays with time. My eye goes to the picture of the cat, laying still. Cats will take their time. It’s the perfect framing for the text.
Last, I just want to say how much I appreciate the texture of this zine. Physical media should feel like something. The heart on the cover and the text are all glued on the paper, making this zine a one of one.
