Wizard’s layouts are interesting because they often become comic books themselves. It’s a beat becoming its subject.
Wizard is also part design school. Look at this page on color theory. This is instructional for new artists. You go to school to learn this stuff.
I’m also surprised how much anime coverage there was in Wizard at the time. Though I guess I shouldn’t be. Wizard would soon publish Anime Insider in 2001, which would run for nearly a decade. More on that later.
