I picked this one up at A&C Games. They often have stacks of old gaming mags there. I recommend it. This is about as cheap as nostalgia gets these days.
Something I want to highlight about game magazines was they would show the entire level of a platformer and guide the reader through it. For Swords and Serpeants, a map is provided here with key items.
For Battle of Olympus, full 2d layouts are presented against an illustrated blue background with information typed out in red. Back in the day, this might be the only time you got to see a game, and for a kid flipping through magazines, it really opened up your world.
Also, these guides are still better than some you see online. At least there aren’t 200 pop ups here, IGN.
