In 2026, access to music is not a problem. For somewhere between free and thirty bucks a month, you can have ad-free access to every song in history from several big streaming services offered by huge tech companies. And all of them will happily give you an algorithm-based playlist of stuff that sounds like what you like, forever.
But over the years I think it’s become clear that algorithm-based listening doesn’t actually replace another human curating music over the radio. So sometimes I’ll find myself going back to internet radio stations, and then occasionally I’ll even check out what’s available on terrestrial FM radio.
What I couldn’t find was a list of active FM radio stations in Toronto with working urls (as of 2026 anyway), so I put one together. I made this list by scanning the FM waves with a 6th-gen iPod Nano to make sure it works offline. All of these stations also have online links and can be played from just about any radio app (though I’m partial to Radio Garden), but it was nice to go analogue for this one.
